Welcome aboard Black Yacht Weekend, a floating party created for black boaters to party on Lake Michigan each year. Boaters connect and party on the water while sitting against the stunning backdrop of Chicago’s iconic skyline.
Black Yacht Weekend was launched with the goal of creating memorable water experiences that encourages local and national attendees to connect with black-owned charter companies.
This is a weekend of fun that highlights the diversity of aquatic experiences and the weekend wraps with a summer party. We encourage boaters from all over to come out and have an amazing time on the water!
Enjoy a full weekend of parties, cruising on the water, and chilling in the Playpen. Grab your crew, find a boat and meet us in the water.
Welcome aboard Black Yacht Weekend, a floating party that sits against the stunning backdrop of Chicago's iconic skyline. Launched in 2021, Black Yacht Weekend has quickly become a highlight of the city's summer calendar, drawing black boaters to the vibrant waters of Lake Michigan each year.
The full event itinerary for the weekend will be announced to all registered ticket holders. Additionally, all ticket holders will receive a list of preferred black-owned charter rental companies to rent boats from.
At Black Yacht Weekend, we proudly honor the significance of Juneteenth while celebrating the vibrant presence of black yacht goers and black yacht charters.

Yacht Day Pre-Party
Yacht Day — Head out on Lake Michigan for music, drinks, and the quintessential summer boat day.
Please note: Black Yacht Day is a general outing where hundreds of boats gather. Tie-ups are not required and are at the sole discretion of individual boat owners or charterers. Registration is required for those who want to display the official event boat flag and be recognized as part of the festivities.
